Ordered mine from the rainforest, smash + GC adapter. They have yet to fail me for release day delivery.

ShopTo and others are good for getting the game before release day, but I won't get a chance to play until Friday anyway.

I'll be playing with a pro-controller.

Also I'll be on WiFi (100mb virgin, very low ping), will see how I get on - happy to go wired if I get lag but going WiFi at first, suck it and see.

I moved my Wii U from the living room into the office to use with the PC on my 24" monitor. I expected the wifi to be crap (~distance 20m + walls) but MK8 has been flawless.

I've been watching streams of people playing online, 1v1's and 3 & 4-Player FFA and it looks great! (just been watching http://www.twitch.tv/lirik), these are mostly people with good connections however.

The online is a clear improvement over brawl at least, which is not surprising considering Namco worked on Smash Bros U.
Playing against randoms with less than great connections, you will run into plenty of laggy matches though so be prepared for that. Many people are reporting a very good experience online too, though.

I'll be testing the online with wireless & wired next weekend, I'll let you know how I get on.
