Super Southern Meet IX - 5th July 2014

Anonther great meet despite the weather, cheers all! Paul, you need to touch up on your meteorological prediction skills! :p

Food was indeed very good, best food we've seen at the southern meets so we'll have to return.

Shame the pub is down a long single track road. When leaving we did create a bit of chaos with some horse riders and traffic coming the other way :D

That was a really good day out, and the food was fantastic. Thanks for arranging it SoliD :)

It's not everyday that you get to teach [TW]Fox something about BMWs ;)

Great meet, thanks SoliD. Thanks to ianh and thewanted for the passenger rides - nice to go out in two very different cars! :)

That was a nice big meet, around 20-25 wildly varying cars with far less BMW's than originally posted! The pub food was fantastic but I wish we'd realised that the big field car park was available as we could've got the whole meet lined up for a massive picture.

It was a shame that the rain scuppered most of the passenger rides but I was happy to take out a few for a spin in the wet (AWD!) and get a a quick ride in the shockingly quick Mazda 3 MPS, such a little rocket!

Thanks for organising, Solid! Was a initially sceptical of the pub given the out of the way location but the food was great and plenty of parking at least once I'd realised I'd overshot and reversed back in!

Definitely somewhere we should go again! Shame the weather left a bit to be desired!

Cheers Ian. Your RS6 was monumental. Props for spending what you have on it to get it perfect.

Thanks to Paul for arranging again and the pub food was great, burgers were lovely. The drive there and back was good, even if we did apparently take a different route back to you and some others. Massive queue rolling past horses and getting others to move out of the way on single track was amusing. :D

Great to see loads of cars turning up, despite changeable weather. Lots of new faces to me, although I have no clue who most of them are. :D

Quite impressed with the Golf today to be honest, granted it can't properly keep up with the luxo barges but it faired pretty well, especially with fuel usage.

Cruised the motorways there and back (despite a stupid, stupid detour thanks to gmaps) with some quick driving between the holiday inn and the pub (both ways).

That's my result of today, only used about half a tank too, seems to be getting better after an oil change.

Glad everyone enjoyed themselves today, I'm glad the pub was good as I hadn't been there before! Bit out of the way, but done well with the food, and nice big car park! We'll be heading back next time! I'll look to do a slightly better route, as the A272 was ruined by too much traffic.

Someone else can pick the date tough, as no matter when I do, it seems to rain!

There are some really nice driving roads and pubs down near me but I appreciate it would be quite a trek for some of you guys. :(
