Super-Wide Dying Off??

I play on a dell ultrawide 3440x1440 and i can play games like GTA 5 on mostly high settings with a few set to max and a few that i dont care about anyway like Ambient Occlussion/tesselation turned of and maintain a health 60 fps 95% of the time with a few dips into the 55 area.

Then there are games like Witcher 3..well dont get me started on that :). Long story short 1x780 lightning isnt enough for 3440x1440(30fps on ultra Hairworks off).

Most of the time though im fine with a single 780 and near max settings. the 21:9 panels is getting more popular for sure. I know im not regretting returning my rog swift for my current Ultra Wide.

I love my LG 34" curved widescreen. I had to send it in to fix backlight bleed and had to play on my Dell 27" one at 1440p for about it week. It looked odd. Gaming is so much nicer at super wide.

It looks like a new baby's born in the 21.9 family: Asus PG34Q 60Hz gsync to be shown at computex. Whose panel it mounts is the big question. Also, someone make a thread please :D

My issue with 21:9 is that I'd have to lose a monitor to get it on my desk.

I currently have two 16:9 27", and a 16:10 30".

If I added a 21:9 I'd have to lose two of the existing monitors.

I really need to add some extra, smaller screens on the ends of my 29" 21:9 for flight sim stuff, but to do that I would definitely need more grunt. As much in the CPU department as anything. So I looked into some of the comments that people have made and it certainly does seem like Skylake is the update I need in my life and if I can wait that long, Pascal.

I'm just hoping the major parts in my gaming setup will last out. I looked up the invoice the other day and all the bits that haven't already been replaced were bought in Feb 2010 so they're doing well really considering they can still handle everything on full settings :P

I would love to think that when Pascal comes along I could pick up a second MSI GTX970 going cheap in the sales but I've never, ever seen that happen. The computer market seems to be one of the mostly finely tuned ones there is. If anything prices just go up as stocks dwindle and run out just in time with new kit coming out so the prices never seem to come down.

Oh well, such is life.

Now I don't want to wish my life away, but I wish this stuff would hurry up and come out already :D
