Superbowl

Superbowl Sunday is great :) Got a little party at our house tonight with a ton of food. Apparently something silly like $600m gets spent on snacks for the Superbowl!!

... According to a Wall Street Journal study of four recent broadcasts, and similar estimates by researchers, the average amount of time the ball is in play on the field during an NFL game is about 11 minutes.

In other words, if you tally up everything that happens between the time the ball is snapped and the play is whistled dead by the officials, there's barely enough time to prepare a hard-boiled egg. In fact, the average telecast devotes 56% more time to showing replays.

So what do the networks do with the other 174 minutes in a typical broadcast? Not surprisingly, commercials take up about an hour. As many as 75 minutes, or about 60% of the total air time, excluding commercials, is spent on shots of players huddling, standing at the line of scrimmage or just generally milling about between snaps. In the four broadcasts The Journal studied, injured players got six more seconds of camera time than celebrating players. While the network announcers showed up on screen for just 30 seconds, shots of the head coaches and referees took up about 7% of the average show. ...

I'm slightly hungover but I've sorted it so I can start work at ~ 9.30 so its all good.

as long as their O-line holds out. Rodgers should be able to chew up the Steelers D.

But I'm wrong every year so probably just cursed the Packers :(

Let's go Steelers! After the Pack put out my beloved Falcons it's the gold and black for me.

Cracking open a beer on a Sunday at 10pm - it must be the Superbowl :)
 
Supporting the Packers. Remember when I was younger, 10 or so maybe and my Dad had some NFL playing cards and they were all of Green Bay players, so that's who I support / follow. Aaron's going to show Roethlisberger how it's done tonight!
 
Just watched Remember the Titans and thought I would watch this. Shame I didn't go to the SU to watch it. I'll probably go to bed after a few plays.

Firstly, Christina should have just shut her mouth and got her tats out the dirty little hussy! she should put them lungs to better use! Damn she's hot!

Secondly, i thought the BBC were bad for ridiculous build up. Lol @ michealDouglas thing talking about ww2, civil liberties, getting on the moon?? How does that have ANY relation to a bloody football game!!!?!? Silly Yanks!

Yeah the screen weighs 600 tons apparently and cost about $40 million!

Stadium did cost over a billion dollars though so they can afford it :p
