Been trying to get Remote Disc to work on my Air only to find out that you can't use it for audio cd's :confused:

So is the Apple Superdrive as fragile as some reviews suggest and are there any alternatives ?

If you think you might want to rip blu-rays at some point in the future then I would recommend something like this:

I've just bought it myself and its great. Theres no point spending £70 odd on an apple superdrive.

Thanks for your reply.

However that Samsung drive appears to need 2 usb ports to power it which is a bit tricky on the Air as it only has 2 and they are on opposite sides! I would ideally like to keep one free for other stuff.

Could buy a cheap usb hub and do it that way?

Or a usb power cable thingy. probably hub would be better. I'll try using my drive with just one usb plugged in later. I will let you know if it works.

Can you not just get an External CD/DVD drive? Why does Remote Disc have to work?
