I am getting this error message quite a bit when playing games, it minimise's my game then i get an error message stating that superfetch has stopped working, when i check for a solution it finds nothing and then closes the game i am playing, this happens quite frequently and is getting really annoying,

Superfetch does seem really usefull and makes my pc much more responsive but if these errors contine i won't have much choice but to disable it,

Anyone any ideas for a better solution?

Thanks

my cpu seems fine, i have tried it at stock and i still get the same problems, chkdsk /f doesnt find any problems either :(
Did you install vista at stock & had this problem before you overclocked.

No, vista was installed on the 3.15ghz clock speed, do you think this could be a problem, is it worth another format/install?

I would reinstall at stock & play at stock for at least a month before overclocking.
I ran my Opteron 185 at 3Ghz at to low volts after i installed & had loads of stopped working popup I could not even install vista at that overclock with out a big vcore jump but the weather is to hot atm so im at 2.8 & everything is working at it should.

The only reason i installed it at the higher clock speed is that it was perfectly stable in xp for a few months and i presumed it would be in vista too, i will probably re-install vista later tonight as i have a karazhan raid to attend in a while :p just hope my pc doesnt decide to die in the middle of it again

Thanks for the help :)

I thought that going from XP overclocked would be the reason.
Vista is not as forgiving as XP.

Ok so i got vista all re-installed now, i guess i have to play games all night now to test it (such a shame) :p

I will let you know how it goes

Shame your not on xfire as i would wipe that smile off your face by joining the other side on line. :D

^^ i see you play bf2, i couldnt really get into that so i guess you would kick my ass :p

Today i played WoW for about 4 hours and i got 1 blue screen and 2 lock ups, this is now a fresh install of vista, it isnt saying anything about errors any more though, but the bluescreens/lockups are still there

That PSU could be feeling the strain.
Also is that gfxcard at stock too?

Yeah, everything is back at stock now :(

I will run memtest why i sleep tonight, see if its a memory problem, if it comes out clear i will invest in a new psu, if that doesnt work i guess my last option is to hide in a corner and cry :p

Check to see if anything is overheating.
CPU,GFX,MotherboardChipset. ect... SBLive drivers.

ok, i ran memtest and prime95 and found no errors, i ran memtest for 10 hours and ran prime95 on both cores for 8 hours, i found no errors so i now know it isnt any of these,

Then today i was just browsing the web and a box popped up asking me if i wanted to look for solutions to problems, i clicked it and it said there had been 24 instances of a "video hardware error" since yesterday, however when i clicked find solution it couldnt find any :(

So so you guys think it is RMA time or could it be something i have done?

Thanks

Looks like the PSU is ok at least.
Is that GPU overheating or it could be RMA time.
Try running with the side of the case off.

lol, yeah, i think i have tried everything, im currently using the beta drivers but no luck there either, the only other thing would be to try my parents 7800gtx to see if it is my card or something else in there, i'm actually hoping it is the card now as i have tried everything else i can currently think of

Thanks again for your help mate, you've been great :)
