Hasn't the 550w gone up in price? £72 for 550w isn't exactly good value when the 650w is only a extra fiver.

Yes, unfortunately the dollar rate drop increased the cost prices, both have increased a little.

Hi,

the recent price rise was simply down to the £ slipping against the $. the price below £70 was impossible to hold on the 550W any longer for retailors as the pound slipped close to 1.45.

The £ has strengthened a little this week and if this were to continue then I think we could see sub £70 back in the UK in the coming weeks.

In terms of value I think for a Seasonic OEM unit the value these units represent is very good. Already seen some good pre-sales in the UK and also similar in the US speaking to the team there.

100% this has a 10 year warranty.

Both the 650W and 750W G1 units come with a 10 year warranty.

Hope this puts your mind at rest.

He was talking nonsense and I corrected him a couple of post's later. I checked EVGA's website before I posted that they did have a 10 year warranty.

i want a new power supply (want modular) and i am undecided between the superflower 650w and also the EVGA 650w gs, do prefer the all black cabling on the EVGA one though

The EVGA GS is made by seasonic.

I would go for the EVGA. As Stulid say's, it's built by Seasonic and I believe is based on their G series platform. I have the Seasonic G 750w and it's extremely quiet. The EVGA version has a hybrid fan mode too.

Will get the evga then
The smaller size (150mm i think) makes it better for cable management in the ft03
So will get that once i decide on a cpu cooler
