I've just got my first dedicated server and I want to install FreeBSD on it but I'm slightly confused as to how to go about doing so. This is the screen I am trying to use:

If I click save or mount not much seems to happen. To be honest I'm not sure what I am doing.

If someone could give some tips I would really appreciate it!

not used it my self, but the photo indicates the media/iso isnt mounted (see the unmount options is greyed out).

That is what I thought but wasn't sure if I was doing something weird. I mean does it need to be available on FTP or HTTP?

I would have thought that was more for access to an ISO on a local drive (or at least SMB Share) rather than on an FTP server?

not used supermicro but is there any option on virtual media tab to mount an iso from your desktop pc?

If wanting to use cd-rom option then you'll need to have it on some sort of NFS mount or similar.

Other option is to find something like remote console and it might have options for something like 'KVMS' -> Storage where you can likely mount an image from your local PC and then change the BIOS to book from CD which will be passed through.

Thank you all! Figured it out. I'm an idiot.

The ISO image needs to be shared from a Samba share. I'll just spin a cheap VPS to handle things like that.

openmediavault prob would have done that for you for free, if its for local access

Might want to try with a file:// prefix -- a naked pathname like that is unlikely to work....
SuperMicro IMPI is very primitive!
