Supernova explosion will be visible from Earth

what times best?

So someone correct me but, if this thing has just reached us, will this be now a permanent new light to be seen with Telescopes? As someone else said it doesn't just go Supernova for a day?

Quite.

Sadly it is cloudy here, typical. Reminds me of when I went to Cornwall to see the solar eclipse, back in 99 I think. Was cloudy then too...

was also at cornwall in 99, i also had to watch the eclipse on telly. its also cloudy now, and binoculars didnt help to find it atall

Dad: hey, its totally not cloudy any more, lets set up the telescope
me: ok, i'll be right down
*le dad gets telescope*
*le me spends the next half hour helping dad set it up in the garden*
dad: ok, that should be it, now we just have to find the supernova
*le clouds come over again*
me: FFFUUU!

*edit*
and now its raining :(

Pretty cool to think the photon particles hitting your eye physically came from a sun exploding billions of miles away. Like getting hit with tiny cosmological shrapnel.
