I tried to run a test using SuperPI but the task manager shows that only 50% of the CPU is being used ? 50% of each core on me e6600 ??? is it normal ?

For dual cores 50% cpu ussage is like having one core running at 100%, its normal.
SuperPI wont stress yir pc enough.

You need to get a program called Orthos run it on priority 9 Blend for around 11 to 12 hours untill it completes 1 whole pass

If it completes without fail then its stable :) ( somewhat ;) )

It should use 100% of a single core, you've no doubt misinterpreted the info task manager is giving you. 50% usage will be full usage on one core. Guaranteed :)

SuperPi is all about pimping your pcs speed, not testing for full stability. Although if it can complete a 1MB test in my experience its stable enough to run 3dmark06 fine for a quick benchmark.

nice one thanks.. downloaded it already :D

P.S. Was looknig at your OC results.. pretty cool... do you leave your machine running 24/7 ?

Yeah I got a good stepping on my Sandy 4000, clocked it 3Ghz no problem runs like a beast :D haven't tried above that. Only have air cooling at the moment.

When I'm at home I only leave it on for a couple of hours at a time, strictly a gaming machine these days, got a Mac for Internet/Music so I use that.

Super Pi isn't multi threaded is it so it should be 50% on one core only. That's what I get at least when I run it. As for test stressing I use TAT nothing I have found gets the CPU temp up as high as this utility does.
