Was wondering what supplement is most effective for weight and muscle gain?
i've been using various supplements for a while maintaining a healthy diet with it and have found maximuscle cyclone to be fairly good seem to have gained quite a few pounds in the past couple weeks whilst training from it but is there a better one out there.
What do u bodybuilders recommend? :)

eat more and train harder! Just from that post I get the feel that you want a quick win solution. If not then I apologies but it just sounds that way :) gaining weight whilst keeping fat low is hard work it'll require numerous hours a week of intensive hard work and a good routine dedicated training and sleep and food. Choice exercises and slightly obsessive behaviour. Supplements won't do squat withou any of the above.

well i've got my routine under control training is very hard atm!

day 1 legs shoulders abs

day 2 cardio abs

day 3 back chest abs i think

day 4 relax

day 5 arms abs

day 6 cardio abs

day 7 relax

i can see the progress coming through will post some pics up in the bodybuilding thread dont have as much definition before in abs :( but at the end of day im gaining weight :D just wondered what others use thats all and if there are better

plus i have between 4-5 meals a day then 3 supplements

Calm down the isolated ab work mate or get rid altogether. Visibility of your abs is controlled by your bodyfat level i.e. diet, not how many crunches on a swiss ball you do.

If you're trying to gain weight, just accept the fact that you might put on a pound or two of fat and the abs will probably lose some definition.

lots of abs, how come?

back and chest on the same day? im a fan of doing some opposite exercises sometimes (bench + BOR superset for example), but not a full workout for both!

eat more for your meals. there is no real need for you to be having lots and lots of shakes really, especially not over priced stuff!

so much ab work it's just not necessary. Why so much? Your split isn't well spaced out if you want to put on size you'll need more sessions and more volume and intensity. A leg day should take it out of you to the extent you can't do any more! I love push-pull exercises for supersets but not for a full work out. You need to separate those days. You don't need a full session for arms either, waste of time. 3 supplements already?! Why?! What do you take? It seems to me you're a little bit all over the place in terms of your training and attitude towards your goals. Tell us more about yourself maybe to give us an idea of what you're after and where you've come from etc...

well i have a personal trainer and i dont really do that much intensity on the abs:

swiss ball crunch x 15

swiss ball oblique x20

jacknife with pressup x15

and i do 2-3 rounds depending on how i feel once i've completed my circuit on arms, or shoulders + legs etc.

But morba im not 100% its chest and back i will check in fitness diary not sure.

If its better i could give a list of the exercises i do?

in response to freefaller i've been taking maximuscle cyclone one in the morning with weetabix with flaxseed :) and then one an hour before training and then one instantly after training.

my aim is basically to get to 12stone, i currently weight 10 2 i just want a nice bigger physique basically.

Beisdes the routine now being great, I have a nagging feeling you're doing lots of poor exercises, what is your full routine?

Before you go any further.. i'd suggest changing your split to this..

Chest & Back
Legs (abs if you
Shoulders & Arms

Do your cardioon your days off.

Same as my routine. I'd like to do a 4 way split, but with Tae Kwon Do as well I'd be training 7 days a week. if I did that :p

Sorry mate but to me that's crazy. Some people at my gym seem to love ab work, I even heard one saying he's following "peter andres routine" :\. You want to see your abs? Lower your bf% :)
I do abs for 3-5 sets a week on a Friday.

LOL at the ab work, thats insane! Why do u think training opposites is bad Morba, in terms of a full workout of course? Been doing it for a while now and Really enjoy it, very good for CV as well due to reduced resting times and high workload

What he's getting at is that if you are training chest well and hard, you're not really going to be able to train your back equally as hard.

However there is a way around this in that you alternate movements.

Bench press, then row, bench press, then row etc.

At the moment though the routine i'm using splits up the major parts pretty well..

Monday - Legs
Wednesday - Chest & Biceps
Friday - Back
Saturday - Shoulders & Triceps

too many big exercises for my liking. Its ok to do every once in a while, but, every session would be mental.

Heavy deads, pulldowns, rows. Benching, dips.

For me it would make for a very long workout. :)

I do it as Wardie said, alternating between each, set of Incline DB, rest 90seconds, set of pull-ups. Really messes you up. I suppose you're right from a solely gaining point of view, since im interested in cutting it works pretty well, have definately put on lean mass when you can discipline yourself to really go for it. Not sure my numbers are particularly suffering from it though. Guess I shall test it sometime and report back!

I agree. DOing it from time to time is awesome and works well, but every work out it's only going to be detremental unless you're some sort of freak! :D
