Supposedly first customer to get new 2014 M3

It does look like someone has picked up a 3 series and bolted on a bodykit to it with regards the gaps!

I think in Estoril blue I would definitely be saying yes!

The noob needs to learn not to boost whilst the engine is cold ;)

I rather like these, but not in white, will be on my list of things to try before replacing the XF in the next few months.

The colour is Yas Marina Blue an exclusive M3/M4 colour like the puke yellow and from the picture the blue with the combined black/silver wheels looks nice.

Another white car :-(

Looks cack tbh, styling gone downhill since the e46..

No it hasn't the E92 has got to be the best looking 3 series coupe so far. The 4 series looking likely to take the crown from there.

The new Z4 looks amazing compared to the old one

The F10 looks fantastic

The new M4 looking amazing

The 2 series is much better looking than the previous model

The F20 1 series is much better than the old one.

I agree that the pre LCI E90, old 1 series and E60 5 series were definitely a low point in BMWs styling department, but now they're well and truly making good looking cars again.

Agree here. I spent a while during the pre LCI/E60 days thinking I was just a bitter E39 owner who didn't want to accept that things had moved on but looking back now its fairly clear that they went through a period of just naff looking cars inside and out and the current stuff really is fairly awesome.

They still do massively annoying things with styling though - why does the F30 not have LED rear tail lights? The whole 'add them at the facelift' thing became old 10 years ago :p

The E39 getting LED rear tails in 2000 should have been it with all subsequent models having them as well. 14 years on we have £45k cars without them!?

Are the interior lights in executive/luxury cars LED yet? Seems like a lot of the more 'basic' tech in cars is still lagging badly behind what's actually available, seemingly for the sake of being able to charge extra for it. My Mazda 3 has LED rear lights and yet so many new cars don't have that. Some are still using regular bulbs for the high-level brake light too, just seems barmy.

The pre-LCI E90 was awful, but the E60 was really ahead of it's time and still looks great today. Much better than the tame F10.

Only because they are both about to be replaced so your comparing a car based on a 2012 base to one's from the mid 2000s.

This is completely true but it's still important to remember that it's not as if Mercedes offer you a 'This car is pretty old now' discount to make it worth it against the all-new competition, is it? They bling it up and sell it for similar money (As you would expect any sensible business to do). I think it's an important reminder that if you want to spend a huge pile of cash on a brand new bang up to date, modern car, make sure it actually IS a bang up to date, modern car.

Currently then I think the only credible brand new compact-exec purchase is the F30 for this very reason.

Once the new C and new A4 hit the market, it'll be rather different.

They are giving some very big discounts at the moment on the EOL cars if you actually look. The Merc has been replaced already so the previous gen cars kicking about have got some big incentives on them.

I just posted, safety rules. If knock someone over with the front your car for example.

Are they supposed to fall into the gaps?

I'm mostly always negative about newer M series BM's but tend to grow on me with time. But I think it's too big and fear the M is mostly for Marketing these days.
The cars are too damned heavy.

I'd like to see BMW go all the way and develop a smallish lightweight high performance car, something a bit more special rather than something a bit faster based on an existing model. THe previous Z4 was like that (especially in M guise)but then the newer one gained weight, went soft and became a Merc SLK rather than a Boxster/Cayman. Yet the new Boxster and Cayman have got much much better, about the same weight as before and in what I think is in a great little niche. BMW, or M enthusiasts at least need something in that market not some bloated 3 series with a few fast bits but with brakes that turn to chocolate when really pushed hard due to the weight of the beast

Why are we talking about panel gaps on an M3, what the **** is wrong with you lot.

No, it's a 2015 model car. That's how it works in America.
Works the same in Europe, too - almost all OEMs worldwide have a slightly different timeline between production year and 'model year', just model year is a far less regularly used concept than production year (or plate in the UK).

I think it looks great, but I think I the m135i looks great too and I seem to be on my own with that one :p

The m135i is Miss Universe compared to this horrible looking thing.

Obviously if I was offered one I wouldn't turn it down but the previous M3s look better to my eye (e46 being my pick of the bunch).

Enough talk about the visible bonnet line. It only exists because of EU rules on impact pedestrian safety. Recent Mercedes models also have the same gap lines, even the Ferrari 458 has one and no one is complaining about that.

You do realise that the e46 never had a saloon M3 so you should be comparing against the M4.

Have they made projector lenses standard fit yet? Even if they don't put xenon bulbs in it's still poor show to not put projectors on a brand new car with the price tag a BMW comes with.

It's a let down when you see a BMW with reflector lights and think it's some base spec and it's actually something quite decent!
