SupremeFX X-Fi (part of the Rampage 2 Extreme mobo)

Depends what you want to do with it.

It should be pretty good for music and films etc. It's not a full X-Fi chip though; it's X-Fi in brand name only. It doesn't have the full version of CMSS-3D or EAX5. Additionally you can't get the upgrade that allows you to encode Dolby Digital and DTS over optical that you can with a full x-fi. DVDs should still work for 5.1 over optical though, as they're pre-encoded.

Capability wise it's about on par with an X-Fi Xtreme Audio. It is better than the rubbish you normally get as onboard audio.

Mainly just going to be using it with 2.1 speakers for gaming and music (reasonably high volume occasionally).

From what I thought and what you guys have just said it sounds like it'll be fine for what I need. Thanks :)

It's a soundMAX pretending to be X-Fi to make sales but for what you need it's more than enough.
