I need to replace a non-working XPS 15 which I've had for several years. It's been great, right up to the point it wasn't.

I was looking at the XPS 13 (as they're cheaper) but also at the MS Surface Laptop 4 as it can be found for £750. But it's the fact it's pretty much totally sealed and I won't be able to, for example, replace the battery when it starts to lose capacity, or fails. I don't want to find myself with a paperweight after 3 years.

Does anyone have any long term experiences of them? Am I worrying needlessly? It's mostly going to be used for office apps, sofa surfing, a bit of accounting, maybe some Netflix.

The Surface Laptop 4 is just held together with 4 screws, under the feet, then the keyboard lifts off and you can get to the battery and SSD which can be upgraded.
Ram is fixed on motherboard.
