Hey there,

Looking for a surfing getaway weekend in early September in Europe with good weather i.e. mid-20's or higher.

Currently had Faro on the list but open to alternatives.

Any recommendations?

Not Rhyl.

Thanks in advance.

Portugal hosts surfing competitions and champoons due to its strong winds and high waves. Surfing is a big thing here :)

Currently 37C, and it's a 2-3hr flight away. What more do you want?

Besides, the Algarve is the Sunniest part of the UK anyway.... -_-

Nazare for the biggest waves. Anywhere down in the Algarve. I go to Sagres each year to see the brother in law and there is tonnes of good surfing a drive away.

may be hot down here in Cornwall ,ive driven down to sw france ,surf ,massive sand dunes forest cycle paths est ,really enjoyed it

I don't surf but the waves in Ferteventura looked good up North in Correlejo, they had a surf club too. I think it's meant to be a good destination.

Thanks guys.

We're a group of 8 and had managed to settle on a Thurs - Sun window in Sept which is clear for annual leave for all of us. Turns out those dates are much more pricier than previously anticipated (compared to August flights/accommodation), but I think we'll push on to get somewhere in Algarve regardless.

To get the cheap flights you tend to have to buy them with Easyjet as soon as they go on sale.

Bear in mind as well that up to 13th September, the Portuguese are on school holiday and The Algarve is really busy until then. Including the prices for accommodation.

I hear Essaouira, Morocco, is good for surfing, and a pretty chilled place to visit. Direct flight from Luton with Easyjet.

What about the canaries I think Lanzarote has some surf. Certainly windy enough....
