Surge protector question!

Hey,

I have a 4 plug surge protector that I paid around $90 for 3 years ago. All my pc equipment is connected into it as well as another 4 port (non surge protector) which is connected via the last plug on the board for other things in my office.

My question is... Is it alright to use a very good quality single plug surge protector from the wall socket and then have the 4 port surge protector connected to it and then daisy chain a non surge protector? I'm a little hesitant on how good the 4 plug protector is, which is why I was gong to user the single surge protector too.

I hope this makes sense!

I'm not sure you'd gain much by daisy chaining surge protectors,
generally once the surge protection devices (link) have shunted a few surges, then they aren't much use. (link)

Also, chaining 4 port extension sockets isn't very safe.

if you are handy with a soldering iron, replace the VDR inside the unit with another. I think for Aus you'd need something like a 275v VDR.

A proper filter looks something more like this:

UPS's aren't perfect, but are what people generally use for PC protection.
