Surge protector

Hi,

I wondered what a surge protector like this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=UP-007-BE would be like?

It covers you for £100k, but does the thing actually last? I've been told that after a while the surge protection 'runs out'?

Also, has anyone got any idea of the basic terms and condition of the £100k insurance?

Had a belkin one in the other bedroom running for 4+ years now, so i'd have to say whoever told you they don't last is quite possibly wrong. The one i have is only 4 way though. Personally i have an orange 6 way surge protector, could well be belkin aswell but i've got stuffed under the desk, and there's no way i'm climbing down to have a look right now.... heheh

We have surge protectors on all 3 pc's and none have ever died, well not yet anyway...

If in doubt check belkin's website... they'll have the specifics..

On the plus side to, not had a single thing blow up while plugged into them...

everything my room is behind a surge protector, had loads of power cuts and everything still works fine so i take it that it works.

Better than nothing, but I would buy a UPS if you can afford it, and have a high value PC devices plugged into it.

Yea, I'd love to get a UPS for my new PC, but can't really afford it right now. I think I'll make it one of the things I buy after my PC
