Surprisingly Good Games...

Soldat: http://soldat.pl

Hadn't heard of it until someone brought it along to a LAN party at my house...I think we spent virtually the entire night playing it whilst the guy who was already good at it took the **** out of us with a chainsaw :)

edit: God damn it uv..stop hogging all the posts :D

i used to play that a lot, was in a clan and everything lol

must admit WOW is a lot better than i though it would be...obviously i expected it to be good, but its sooo addictive lol

Kotor games, i thought they would be overly complicated and just some other star wars game but it was a real surprise when i played it the first time.

X- btf, i thought hmm this looked interesting when i was in a game shop one day i bought it then and there and thought wow this is amazing when i got home and played it.

GTA games, i liked the first one gta 1 and 2 was ok when the first 3d one came along i thought hmm but when i played it i just couldnt stop. The story was amazing the driving was amazing and i loved stealing other cars in that one and the loads of missions and sub plot missions kept me interested with plenty of variety. I was happy when vice came along with bikes and choppers and stuff, SA was a bit weird at first cos of the rpg elements and the gangmembers recruiting stuff but i got into it a lot after the first few missions after the gang territory stuff and when multiplayer came along i played it heavily and was having lots of fun.

Flatout games, i thought they would be generic games but i soon found them to be really fun, nitro, insane speeds, damage model was incredible to the details and best of all run really well on my older hardware i had back then.

Worms armageddon. Never really played a worms game but have played lemmings and a tanks game similar to worms. But once i got playing and making my own maps for it i got really into it and play it heavily to this day with snowdog online. Its great for a quidk battle and its turn based which is really fun.

The longest journey. - Incredible point and click adventure game. I had played adv games before but this was in a league of its own, it was increadibly long and really varied with fully voiced characters and an amazing story. The sequal "dreamfall" changed too much and went 3d and had bad controls and not as good inventory puzzles and too much action in it which u can die which as most will tell u adv gamers dont like action sequences and hate games where u can die in them since there not that type of game. There story and character adventures.

Their is more games but these are some of the more important games to me. Which surprised me how good they were.

Trackmania series. I had a quick go on the demo and was hooked right away. I still play them today, especially TM:United & Nations.

Driv3r - has a lot of flaws but enough variety of missions coupled with a good cinematic storyline to keep it interesting.
KOTOR - I hadn't touched a proper RPG for maybe 7 years and expected that I would have more trouble getting into it.
Command and Conquer: Renegade - didn't play this until the First Decade came out due to the lacklustre reviews when it first came out. Pleasantly surprised by the diverse levels and fantastic array of weapons.
Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy - I thought Jedi Outcast was rather overrated, so was pleased to see many of the flaws rectified for the follow up.
Call of Duty - For some reason I turned my nose up at the MOH/COD games when they came out. In the end around a year after release I decided to try CoD due to all the rave reviews. I ended up being astounded by the quality of the production, so I went back to try the MOH Warchest too.
Freespace 2 - I never would have believed that such a comprehensive control system could have been made so intuitive.
