Firstly, it's "Gamer" Not "The Gamer" and you're an idiot if you think that, Gamer is essentially a copy of Death Race with Xbox 360s, Surrogates is a different concept entirely - it's about people living their lives through robotic surrogates which means the person is safe in the outside world and can alter their looks to match there residual self image and more, and a nod toward how people project themselves through things like Facebook and places where you can fake how people see you, just multiplied exponentially to giddy sci-fi heights, If you can't distinguish the two I'm worried!
Surrogates wasn't the best film ever, I left the cinema wanting a bit more and thought that while the underlying concept was a good idea just the whole film could have been executed better. The ending was a bit of a fluff up though, that wasn't very well done either.
