surround sound set up ?

hi all i have a cheap but reasonable silvercrest 5.1 surround sound it has aux to earphone jack or i have 3 leads to connect to the

orange
black
green

when i connect them it will not work :s

Have you set the output to 5.1 in Windows sound options, and in the Realtek sound options? Assuming it has realtek that is.

Do you get any sound at all?
