Survey: How much memory are you using at idle?

Once your system has started up, and everything has loaded, how much memory usage are you idling at? I'm at 950MB out of 2GB.

I'm just curious to see what kind of idle usage people are having with their systems. Please state your spec (including operating system).

Spec below, Vista HP 64-bit.

Leopard 10.5.2 (64bit) MacBook Pro (Core 2 Duo 2.4, 4GB, 256MB 8600M GT)

With a fresh restart, note OSX Activity Monitor reports it's memory differently to Windows:
Total: 4 GB
Free: 3.21 GB (free and not used)
Wired: 409.68 MB (used by OS and not usable by user apps)
Active: 357.71 MB (currently used by applications)
Inactive: 32.30 MB (used by previously execute apps - cached in memory and reclaimable if required, think file cache of apps)
VM size: 37.73 GB (all loaded apps have VM portion, oddly that gets counted)
Page ins: 118.91 MB
Page outs: 0 Bytes
Swap used: 0 Bytes (ie no swap actually used)

Apps loaded and running at restart: Mail, Calender, Address Book, Firefox, Messenger, Stickies, Activity Monitor.
 
Vista x64 : 4 of 4 gb (superfetch/chached obviously).


Xp X86 pro= 650 mb out of 2gb ( with memory remap enabled I can't get more than 2gb in xp :()
This is with several apps open (strating with windows) and 51 processes.

It varies loads though, was munching 1Gb earlier with pretty much the same running.
 
1115MB in vista 32 with firefox and winamp on

Tisnt good! Then again its the unitop which is *drum roll* a turion TL-56 (dual 1.8ghz), 3 gig of ram, x1300 and a 160gig hdd
 
1.11GB of RAM used after startup.

Is that enough specs?

general average for me at idle is 1.72gb out of 4gb (43% :O) on Vista 64bit Ultimate

spec's:-
-Intel E2180 @ 2.8ghz
-Evga 680i
-Patriot 4gb PC6400 (2x2gb) @ 1100mhz@5-5-5-15
-Nvidia 6200TurboCache (don't laugh, my 8800GT is on holiday at the moment)
-2x320gb Hitachi DeskStar's

that should be enough spec's:P

current items in taskbar thingy is
MSN, SpeedFan, Utorrent, SideBar, AVG, PowerISO, ObjectDock
 
its a vista thing as it gives some physical ram to the gfx or something i may be wrong but thats what i heard. because when i use 2gb im on about 40% use at idle and same when using 4.
 
Well graphics cards usually shadow a section of memory. In the case of the X1950XTX it still requires system memory underneath it..
