Makes me wonder how much of this reported "used" vista memory is cache that would be released to applications.. if not 1.4GB at idle on a fresh startup is banannas!

Usually around 1.2GB of 4GB used at boot.

EDIT: 54 Processes (Including Vista Sidebar, ATi CCC, Razer Tray Tool, AVG 8.0, RealTek HD Audio Tray Tool, Task Manager)

Vista Ultimate SP1 (64bit)

(Page file set to 16MB)

Mines usually just over 500mb when idle, thats Vista Ultimate 64 and 2Gb total ram.

Ive turned some things off though here, like the sidebar, user account control etc.
