Ive had an OCZ vertex 2 running for some time as my primary drive. But yesterday I started having issues with some program's so I rebooted. Only it didn't. It said there was an error that windows 7 couldn't repair. So I went to the bios to switch disks as primary. But now the bios doesn't even see the drive. I've tried swapping sata ports but it makes no difference.
Any ideas what's happened?

Try disconnecting everything else on the SATA ports. If it still doesn't see it try it in a different machine if you can - if it isn't recognised by the BIOS on the other machine it might definately have failed & need RMA'd. Just make sure the BIOS settings are set to default and nothing has changed there first.

You could also try setting it up with an external adaptor / dock to see if it will be recognised via USB or similar.

I also had the same happen to me this morning! My computer was working fine last night, then this morning it would no longer boot to my SSD, after hard resetting the BIOS, trying it in other computers, removing all devices etc it does seem like it has died :(

This is the second time a Vertex 2 has died on me!
