"Top boffins in the States believe that they may be on the track of a way to place living human beings into suspended animation, allowing them to survive long periods effectively frozen before being "reanimated" with no ill effects."

Would you have your self placed in this state and if so for how long and why?

Personally I would go for around 100 years to see what the future is like. If I dont like it I would hop back in essentially becoming a time traveller, even if it is only forwards in time :)

Assuming there is still a world in 100 years time and we haven't blow it to peices! :p

It'd be interesting to effectively see the future. However what if the future is not what you were expecting, as in worse that the world/life is now? Then you'll be wishing you died instead of being frozen!

Not knowing what had happened for the past century would be incredibly annoying too! Take ages to learn what has happened and why!

If I could be sure some twerp wasn't going to drop a bomb or something on me while I was sleeping, I'd consider a 100 year trip.

Be pretty crap if you woke up a hundred years later into the aftermath of a nuclear war...

if that were true i doubt they'd wake you up. you'd either die without knowing it, or continue to be suspended until the world is ready to wake you up again which could be say another 100 years after that.

the only way i can see this being bad is if in 100 years aliens have over taken the world and perform experiments on people.

Who says you have to go alone? Family or mates... all wake up together. PARTY LIKE ITS 2010 in 2110!

How much would it cost though? There's so much to pay for, and what if they have to keep you in there for another 100 years...are you going to pay for that as well?

Oh and I would totally do it :D

Wouldn't do it. It'd mean permanently giving up everyone and everything I know; extremely selfish. Besides, there's plenty of wonder to be had in this world for those who are willing just to go out there and find it.
