Does anyone know any good suspension and geometry places in the Midlands? I have just brought some BC coilovers for my car (Toyota Glanza V) and could do with getting them setup for fast road / occasional track use.

Centre mavity in Atherstone - Porsche owners rave about them. And last time I saw a classic Ferrari pulling out so they certainly know their stuff!

Have sent Centre mavity an email, will see what the come back with. Reviews seem to be very good.

£585.00 from Centre mavity for the full works, which I would pay for if I had the car complete with all mods I'm going to do. I still have a fair bit to do such as Whiteline front & rear ARB + droplinks, adjustable Panhard rod and polybushing everything.

Blink Motorsport in Winsford are decent as well, slightly further for the OP than the other places mentioned though.

How much!?!? It'll be knocked out within weeks anyway!

Could you not afford it or something? Pft. It must be a pain to be poor.

It's not that he cant afford it
It's because it's stupidly expensive for something the local place with a hunter machine can do for 35 an axel.

Heck, I saw an imprezza on the machine few weeks back having all his custom suspension sorted tracking wise. Took 2 hours and was still only charged £70.

Thing is Centre mavity do a hell of a lot more than just tracking via a Hunter Align. Depending on how adjustable your suspension setup it's a full day getting the car setup with corner weighting, diagonal weighting, multiple trial runs adjusting the bump/rebound settings etc and it's just your car being worked on, no-one else there.

If your car had OEM suspension with very little adjustment (a Mondeo for example) then yes CG are massively overkill and you'd be daft to spend that sort of money but for a car with fully adjustable suspension they are quite rightly regarded as one of the best in the UK.

Plus you're paying for Chris's knowledge too. A "kiwk-fit" align will be to a setting provided by the manufacturer of your car but these will be generic. With Chris you tell him how you want your car to feel (more turn in, less slip, more stability straight, more stability corner etc) and he comes up with custom settings for the tracking which are then tested until the car matches what you want to feel.

oh... Then that's only for people with Specialist setups then?

Thing is you can do that with a lot of alignment places (maybe not quite to as much detail) and they still only charge about £70 :D

Yeah £500+ is a bit steep to say the least. Do Centre mavity give you all the settings on a sheet so you can default back to their original settings?

Far too much in that case, sorry. Especially on something as simple as coilovers on a glanza.

ABP are about £250 iirc.

Even scoobyworld who did a full suspension change on my Impreza still charged less than that.

I agree, I'm going to drive up to ABP next week and have a chat with them. I could setup all the damper settings myself along with the preload. Its just all the alignment and camber which I need setting. Most people seem to run -1.5 to -2 degrees. The rear is pretty crappy tbh as its torsion bar so only settings are on the coilovers & ARB.
