Suspicious Damage

There's nothing really up for debate here. That kind of damage would leave the box completely trashed.

He's got it out, either swapped it with his old broken one, or damaged it trying to put it in and is trying it on with you.

Third pic, the damaged portion has been forced OUT rather than in as would have happened if the damage was from the outside of the box. He's either damaged it himself or has swapped it for his damaged one. Tell him to DO ONE.

Another identifying feature:
Did yours have the mark in the lower left hand corner on the fascia plate?

I can't really remember, another thing to consider is that when I posted it I attached the front of the stereo to the headunit and then put it in the box. Yet he says that is undamaged, I don't see how it could have sustained that kind of damage without affecting the front.

Unless his own stereo was broken and he just wanted the face? And now he's trying to get his money back also.

Ask him to provide a picture of another angle and call him out stating that it isn't the same unit. See what he says... if he goes quiet...

No way on this earth that damage happened with a knock/squash in postage that only crumpled the end of the box like that! Clearly a scumbag trying to scam you. He's squashed the box himself to try to add some credibility to his absurd claim.

Tell him to send it back and you'll issue a full refund on recpt.

Then state you never got the parcel, as I bet he wont send it recorded delivery.

I dunno...

I got a box from Cisco that had only minimal visible external damage on first glance, perhaps even less than the damage to the OP's box. The part inside was completely and utterly ruined!
