Swapped to wired and wont go above 10Mbps !

do ethernet cables have different speed ratings or something ?? ill try it if i can find a different one

you can get 10mb only cables, they have less wires inside limiting the speed.

however, they are not all that common anymore, if its a new cable u bought recently, then it should be a proper 100mb one.

also, what pc and router are you using ?
 
i bought the cables a few days ago,
the router is in a few posts above
and my pc's are dell xps 625....i know its a dell, dont start :)
and the other is my new build, with gigabyte mobo.

there are different types of cable, however, such as cat5, 5e, 6, 6e, 7 and 7a

can i ask if you run the cable past any magnets or big electrical sources? this can have an impact on performance.

You may also want to try and get some shielded network cable as this helps protect from interferance
