Hello all

I swapped my system into a new case and plugged everything back in but it wont boot

The power LED stays on so i know somethings plugged in wrong i just dont know what

Any help much appreciated, i know its something blindingly obvious

Thanks

:o

Could you be more specific? When you press the power button what actually happens? Do all the fans spin up fine? I would try reseating the graphics card first, but more info will help us help you.

Nothing happens no post or anything just the LED on thats it :/

Ive checked the mobo manual and it looks like ive done everything right with regards to the pain in the arse little conectors for the front panel

Any Beeps ?
I know you've checked the control panel via the manual but the manuals are often wrong well not wrong just interpreted differently & i still think it'll be down to that.
Search on the web for a control panel diagram.

If the power LED is always on, it probably means you have plugged it in the wrong way around. The power/rest switch dont matter which way around you plug them in but the LED's do. Although I doubt that will help the problem.

Getting no beeps or anything only the LED on ive unplugged all the drives so the only things connected are the chip, ram, gfx card and the front panel switches :/

I would definitely double check the power and led connectors from the case to the motherboard. Once I had a couple of the front panel connectors upside down and it caused a few problems.

On all the motherboards I have had the writing on each connector has been facing downwards to the bottom of the case. If you have no luck with this then I would suggest taking it out of the case and setting it up on a box as suggested above.

At least then if it works there and you know it works in your old case then it would point to something shorting out between the case and the motherboard in your new one.

Don't you love it when its something so simple :) I recently just swapped my build into a htpc case, I went to switch it on and there was no boot.

I opened the case back up and checked all cables, I then rolled of my entire vocabulary of swear words before realising that I had not flicked the switch on the psu :o
