Right, got an Iphone yesterday on vodafone through the carphone warehouse.

Today I discover that where I work, and the surrounding area has no signal, now I dont mean poor signal, literally no service whatsoever.

So, am I within my rights to contact carphone warehouse and end the contract now and switch to another network that I know gets better signal? I would only require a new SIM as the handset itself is fine. of course if this is posible id pay for any texts and calls id made but I cant go 2yrs with not being able to use my phone for 9hrs every day?

Anyone been in a similar situation here?

Yeah, you should have a 7-14 day cooling-off period, in which you should be able to send the phone straight back

EDIT: I think you would have to send the phone and sim back seeing as the phone comes with the contract, then just take out another iPhone plan with o2, orange, 3, t-mobile whoever :)

Right, may as well post my findings, might help oters in the future.

From what I could gather, these 7 day cooling off periods arent available with Vodafone contracts. So, I contacted CW today informing them of the complete lack of signal, they checked their system and contacted Vodafone, who said the coverage was good and that they wouldnt accept the end in contract, but did ask me to contact Vodafone to discuss with them,

So, contacted Vodafone who were suprisingly helpful but were difficult with me and my situation, saying the "Mobile" phone was regstered to a different postcode than my works postcode, I argued the whole point of a "mobile" phone is its supposed to be taken all over the place.

After finally battling the down they agreed to allow the contract to end now, so I whipped into CW again and I am now on Orange!

:)
