I don't mind quoted for truth as that doesn't tend to get spammed, but for the win certainly got spammed. I blame World of Warcraft for that!

I don't mind the swearie filters, but the F T W is daft. just because someone got fed up of seeing it? Its not like F T W was all that was posted (sometimes it was, but no more than others abbrevs.)

OCUK, as great as it if, is probably the most diverse and pedantic forum i'm a member of. I aint complaining, i'm still here. But the rules should be there for the good of the forum, not cos some mod had a pet peev about a certain word, phrase or abbreviation.

Remember people do post from phones, so abbreviations are used more often. We all know what they mean, so why 'make' them type it out in full.
It's just a fad anyway, all fad phrases go out of fashion after a while. Rather than ban/filter it, just ride the storm. It just makes the forum seem a little less nazi-style (which, sadfly it does have a rep for). You aint gonna educated people into using proper grammer. See?

what about acromyms for swearing.... GTFO, WTF etc..... as they are read as swearing, do they incur cyber-discliplinary?
