Swearing on the forums? Can we clear this up

Iv been banned for swearing (a band name too, turns out its still a swear even if its a name :()

Not to ruin it for everyone but shouldnt the family forum police delete the post for gf thread as thats not a good family values way to portray women.....

(please dont delete it, its amusing, im just pointing out some slightly interesting family value standards)

Even if this forums is only visited by older people, why should anyone have to put up with people unnecessarily swearing?

I generally consider OcUK to have a mature user base, and its not necessary to swear all the time, but those who do want to swear at least having them star their swears out means people who dont want to read any profanity dont have to (if i don't want to read a post full of swears, i just notice the *'s and ignore the post, where as without it being stared out, i don't know it has swears in it untill im already reading it).

Anyway, cant OcUK admins add swear words to the word filter? so that its not possible to swear (unless people try to avoid the filter, like using spaces between letters), just like a common typo for 'the' is filtered out by stars automaticaly.

Homosexuality is frowned upon iirc, was it balsamic that kept getting his sig deleted for it?

Also theres that list of spie quotes on the subject >.<

While this works the majority of the time, i was suspended once for wee starting with p, no not pee the otherone. It was stared out but i didn't see that, the thread had moved on too quickly for me to go back to it. I then used it again and was suspended. If i had known that it was not an allowed word then i wouldn't have used it.

The "1" looks like an "i"

The "5" looks like an "s"

You haven't fully starred out the swear word
