I'm trying to cut out chocolate and sweets out of my diet as much as I can. If I finish a meal, I just want to automatically go and get a biscuit, bit of chocolate, not because I'm hungry but because I crave it.

My question is, how would I stop this? My mate said do something else which takes your mind of it ie. go for a run (get away from chocolate lol).

Step 1: Throw out all the biscuits and chocolates in your house.
Step 2: Don't buy any more.

How ****ing simple is that?

My question is, are you a girl? Get a beer instead man. :-|

Try replacing chocolates and sweets with fruits.

When I feel like something sweet I have a small apple or pear. It's far nicer and better.

I've actually gone off sweets a bit because of it.

Mabye chew gum after meals?

Yoghurt is a good suggestion too, or fruit, grapes especially can be very sweet :)

If you seriously still crave chocolates etc get some thin rice crackers and some good quality dark chocolate. Melt the chocolate and spread it thinly on the crackers and eat. This is a good substitute for a biscuit and should get you over the difficult hump at the beginning of your new diet.

Good luck

How mentally weak are you man?

You crave a biscuit?

LMAO. Seriously.

Get back under your bridge.

Seriously, though, a good way to tackle things such as these is to gradually ween yourself off. Having it as normal one week, and then not having it let's say, Wednesday the next week. And with each subsequent week, taking a day out. You get used to the idea of not having one, and eventually you don't need it.

Beating this sort of thing can be tough at times, but just remember that you *can* and that you *do* have the power to change.

Replacing chocolate with another thing doesn't help to beat the craving/addiction - it just replaces it with another thing. In order to beat the addiction you need to stop the thing entirely. The gradual way is best as it gives you time to adjust, and is pretty much the easiest way to do it. I have found, anyway.

Doing things to take your mind off it will help when you're cutting it out, so that's something to look into.

Good luck!

lolasim18.

Anyway no, I don't have a sweet tooth. I do have friends that do however, one piles so much sugar on the cereal I can't see the cereal under it! but he works out a lot so that helps to burn it of (lucky for him).

If you cut it out totally then you will only end up breaking down and going nuts. Just limit yourself to a bit at the weekends or something

i don't buy biscuits or sweets cos I just eat them all one after another, in like the first hour after getting home from the shop.

Still get mad cravings though. The best thing is to buy LOADS of fruit, pears, apples, bananas, tangerines, grapes are the best. (and eat a healthy balanced meal, and inlcude pudding ifyou must, like say sponge and custard or something)

My dad was obsessed with 3 table spoons of sugar in every cup of tea he made , approx 5 months ago he said he done his normal routine and made tea and added the 3 sugar etc and spat it out!.. now he can't stand it!

even chocolate! he used to by bars and bars of it! and eat it in one go.

he had no reason why he stopped , but i think the old age and his palate gave up

Stop buying them is the easiest way to stop eating them, and yes it is literally as easy as that. I still crave sweet foods however when I go to the kitchen and the only option is yoghurt, fruit or cereal bars I choose one of them.
