You barely need to do this with a 54ft articulated truck, why car drivers feel the need, I have no idea.
I refer to it as more advanced because I actually calculated these things in my first few years of driving. I don't just drive to get from A to B like 99% of people out there... I actually practiced to become better than the average driver.

advanced driver - rewatched some of the scenes from bullit to remind me what advanced rwd town driving is all about, Ronin is perhaps a better reference - both from before the age of advanced driving aids - drivers aren't as advanced as they used to be - Moss or Hamilton.
