I never played SWG, but the way they handled Jedi seems interesting. One of my worries about TOR is the likelihood of seeing dozens of people wandering around with light sabers - that will really break the immersion IMO.

SWTOR is set in a period of SW lore where Jedi/Sith were common place.

SWG was set in more familiar SW times where Jedi were a rare breed.

I think I am going to give this a go tonight. Just need to find my SWG discs.

The guys behind the project are doing a great job 'by all accounts'.

Well I was in the last night for 20mins (took awhile to get the 3 cd's and updates downloaded) but it was exactly as I remember. People say that they are taking ages and not making progress, I don't know about these people but I don't get much spare time as it is let alone re-create from scratch an MMO!

Fair enough. Might have been good to have them unlock later anyway (i.e. like a prestige class), rather than being a Jedi from the start.

Ive no idea if it was SOE's or LA's fault but i know SOE cared little for their community and killed the game then again doesnt SOE kill every game they get their hands on.

Actually SOE are pertty good at keeping games going, even when the user base is tiny. Look at Planetside and Vanguard. To be fair to them, most companies would have shut those games down a long time ago. SWG is only going because they're not getting the contract renewed from Lucasarts.

They're a bit slow to joing the F2P bandwagon in some cases, but credit where it's due.

Well played a good two hours tonight with 4 mates over Skype (amazing really, I used to play on dial up!) the differance and fun is awsome. Good missions and teamwork, going to do some points of interest tomorrow.... Can't wat!!!
