Swiftcover or Chris Knott

I went with swiftcover, granted I didn't have to make any claims etc... just had a great price. But when I did need to contact them they just told me to go on the website and do it.

They were very speedy when I needed a copy of my proof of no claims however. The documents you print online turns out aren't enough for some people for the proof of insurance. Not at the DVLA anyway.

quite a few people on the VXR forums have used chris knott without issues

only gripe seems to be they dont insure stockport / manchester / liverpool postcodes.

Please do anything but endorse Swiftcover's use of that old wrinkly wazzock who I want to kill every time their advert comes up.

You and me both

I kept hearing their radio advert which is just as annoying on Heart the other week too :(

Funnily he sprung to mind when I was trawling through all the companies and it kind of put me off going to them lol!

Chris Knott use Highway 99% of the time I think - and I'm sure I remember merlin not thinking too highly of them...

They have quoted me £200 cheaper than any other (except swiftcover) and thats with just £150 compulsory excess (no voluntary). It appears they are pretty good at price matching.

Aye they told me it was through Highway. Are we talking poor customer service? That is the main thing that gets my back up and the reason I will never be using Sky Insurance ever again (chimps!). I gues syou pay for what you get, might just go direct line being the reputable company.

Do not go with swiftcover whatever you do. Terrible company to deal with should anything go wrong. They don't reply to emails or letters and make promises over the phone they don't keep. Only when threatened with legal action do they finally actually reply to a claim, only to reject it when there is no good reason to. I didn't bother pursuing as it was only £100 or so and I just wanted shot of dealing with them. Avoid.

The Z4-Forum has a deal going on with Chris Knott Insurance and they always seem to provide decent prices. I will get a quote off them next time around. (Had to be over 21 and have a years experience in a powerful car)

I'm with Chris Knott on a "modified car" policy, beat most places like HIC, Flux, Brentacre, Sky etc with a decent margin.

Not quite as quick to get through and sorted as Brentacre whos customer service is fantastic but I don't mind for the saving I made.

FYI my insurance is actually with Highway.

I'm with C.K (as someone said, Highway Insurance) and they beat my best quote by £60. They seem quite good on the phone, no waiting in a queue and the same girl (Kim?) picked up all three times. Someone might be running the business from their garage but it beats a call centre!
