as the title says, which is best to go for, they both cost more or less the same and i hear the apogee has almost identical perfomance to the storm block for much less, heard great things about alphacool as well, does anyone own these two or have used both?

The apogee is = / > to the storm block according to Swiftech sales. In reality it has been tested to be on par with a DD TDX. The Alphacool is better but the Storm block is still better than all of them.

only problem i have with alphacool hardware is there butt ugly mounting mechanisms, whereas the swiftech blocks look clean and sophisticated  another thing, how does the dangerden maze5 GPU block compare to swiftechs MCW60? and how good are koolance blocks, i find lots of reviews but non of them compare the parts im interested in :(

The last time I checked GFX blocks were all of a muchness. Although I have no experience of the Maze 5 I doubt it's much better (if any) than than its predasesor.

IIRC none of the Koolance parts are that great.

reading a couple of reviews regarding 'polarflo' there blocks seem pretty good, beating swiftech as well :o

The storm is unavailable throughout the UK...worldwide shortage apparently. For some bizarre reason swiftech havn't been making them and instead concentrated on apogee stocks. Much to the OC communities dismay :( I'll be going to the storm from a nexxos this saturday so I'll be able to compare the two.

nexxxos xp was on par with dd tdx blocks when tdx used 1/2" and nexxxos xp used 3/8". Cant fault my nexxxos xp bold

The Apogee is cheaper and easier to make than the storm block. Swiftech are just trying to maximise thier profit margins.

A certain website (not sure if it's a competitor or whatever - I give up with the rules, tbh...) has the NexXos XP right on par with the Cathar Storm G4.

Well I'll be able to try both out this weekend(nexxos and swifty storm), I'll let ya know ;) .

very good man! :) need to find a review of the others on my list as well:

Alphacool NexXxos XP
Swiftech Apogee
Danger Den TDX
Aquacomputer Cuplex XT
XSPC H20

there the five i have been most interested in for my CPU waterblock :) anyone got an input on these?

well i had a dd tdx, was a good block, got an aquaxtreme mp-05 now n its better put simply :p

Main downside with the tdx is the lack of compatibility with different sockets, you buy the block with the top for the socket your using at the time

the best reviews i have seen of all those manufacturers are all alphacool, who have supposidly took the watercooling market by storm, must say there blocks are good performing, and there NexXxos XP block is regarded as one of the best on the market, i prefer the look and mounting mechanism of the plexiglass XP bold myself, plus performance is almost identical to the solid XP block :) so i think im tempted to go for an all alphacool system with a high flow alphacool 1500 LPH centirifugal pump (almost in-audable apparently with excellent pumping height), anyone now recommend a good GPU cooling block, any suggestions are good, though alphacools GPU cooling looks equally as good ;)

been looking at some blocks myself and i still cant make my mind up what to go for .i do like the look of the Alphacool NexXxos blocks cos there cheap :D .but there seams to be about 4 versions of the block so im still not sure what the bests NexXxos blocks are.

I got one A64 nexxos bold for sale(MM) and an intel one on the way. Now I got the Storm I dont need either. The plexi top nexxos can crack/chip so be very carefull when applying pressure, with the bold being metal you can apply as much pressure as possible. From the reviews I have read the bold is the better performer out of the nexxos blocks but not by any significant margin.

Took the storm apart last night for lapping and cleaning and it looks a lot more restrictive than the nexxos. Both are impingement type but the storms nozzles are a lot smaller than the nexxos. If you are planning on using additives I would go for the Nexxos as the storm looks as though them nozzles could block quite easily - time will tell I guess.
