Swiftech H20-220 Apex Ultra+ Watercooling Kit (Socket 462/478/LGA775/754/939/940)

What size are the fittings and the tube in this kit?

Also what type of tubing they provide? Shall I change to tygon if is not?

thanks

hmm isnt that small?

sorry but I am just starting water and any info would be nice :)

I see everywere 1/2" ID and 3/4" OD etc.

How I interpret these?

and I just found out that the MCP655 pump is 1/2" barb. Is there a converter for the smaller 7/16" in the kit? If I change all to 1/2 is it ok with the blocks?

thanks a lot for your help

7/16" is barely any different to 1/2"

1/2" = 8/16"

its just a fraction of an inch :)

As far as I know the 7/16" tubing is good as it stays on the barbs better.....

Hi sorry to butt in here but just want to know if someone can answer a quick question for me (im sure drak3 would like to know too) about the tubing.

7/16 i hear is best because you wouldnt need any hose clamps.. would that tubing still fit over any type of waterblock? they all have barbs right? just checking as i thought some may just have push in connections.

7/16 is a little tighter than 1/2 but I would still use clamps/worm drives as it can still loosen over time, prevention is much better than the cure. 7/16 is regarded as the best to use because it is slightly easier to route than 1/2 and still has good anti-kink properties of 3/8 yet the differences in restriction between 1/2 and 7/16 are minimal if any. MasterKleer make some very cheap but very good 7/16 tubing.

You need 1/2 barbs for 1/2 & 7/16 tubing. I wouldn't recommend using 1/2 tubing with a 10mm or 3/8 connector. EK & DangerDen high flow barbs are the best around imo. You may need to dip the end of 7/16 tubing in some very hot water to ease the fitment to a 1/2 barb which will then shrink-fit when cooled down over the 1/2 babr creating a near perfect seal, using a clamp to secure it for peace of mind ;)
