Probably too much of a sweeping statement. Outside school on a summers weekend night doing 40 isn't stupid imo (depending on road and visibility).
But yeah, apparently the money to run the cameras will boost the mobile police cameras... not such the 'win' for motorists top gear and the like promote it as!
On my commute to work each morning a 40mph zone changes to 30mph without much warning, opposite a school and I have quite frequently seen mobile speed cameras. It's a dirty trick to raise money, but half of me understands why they do it. I think until the day some kid runs out in the road on you in a 30mph zone it's difficult to understand. It happened to me in my first 2 years of driving and it makes you realise that you should drive responsibly on those roads. By all means, there is fun to be had on NSL roads but I really honestly despise idiots who drive on 30mph roads like it's a ralley tournament
