Almost certain I recall thinking it was odd that a "technology company" had such archaic systems.
It could be a contactless payment.

I would highly doubt it was contactless if you had to both swipe the card and put it into the pin pad! That's about as much contact as it's possible to have![]()
Not really anything to worry about - I used to do this when I worked in retail, very common practice and we'd make cloned cards out of the details. It was certainly one of the perks of the job!

A few shops around here have it now(scan with no pin)
