Switch from AGP to PCI-Exp: Getting the same whack I already have.

If it was me, I'd go for the X2. Higher clocked in the first place and simpler to overclock if you did decide to try it. If stability's your primary concern you may not want to overclock at all.
 
Go for the X2.

Asrock board isn't really for overclocking so the unlocked multi will really come in handy.

Even if you don't overclock at all the 2.7Ghz dual core should win out in most situations but the most extreme cases of multi-tasking.

Then I'm convinced. And even if the X3 would be better in some circumstances, it's worth noting the X2 is considerably faster than what I already have anyway, so I figure I might not have even noticed the X3's slight edge in some areas, let alone appreciated it. :)
