Switch to Santander & Get £100

I hear Santander are a terrible terrible bank.

thats an understatement.

i opened an account and after one moth i tried to send £200 from my paypal account. it bounced back so i went to find out why

it turns out the account was blocked becuase they lost the application form that they were supposed to send off

2nd time they put the wrong address on the application form. dont know how and the account was still blocked.

3rd time they sent of the form the head office and they lost!

they then asked me if i wanted to do it again and just told then ill open an account with natwest and walked out

I've had a few problems with santander, they seem really un-organized. Took me 2 attempts to get my Online account up and running as they didn't send me the activation code. When i rung them, it was an indian call centre and he didn't understand that I just needed the activation code and sent the whole set of codes again. So I had to wait another week.

Then after 30 days I expected my money to have transferred over from my RBS ISA but it didnt. Had to make a good few calls to both banks and the money finally went in 60 days later .

Regarding the £100 offer, I've seen it posted on money saving expert so it should be fine. Seems like a lot of hassle for £100 though. I think I'll stick with RBS for now.

I have been thinking about this too and currently got a first direct and Halifax ultimate account.

Halifax is bills etc. First direct is my normal account. Mrs banks with natwest and I can't stand them. Dislike them also for their bad business

Mortgage is with national counties building society

my gf is with RBS, she got a letter yesterday saying santander have bought them so she will be switched to them automaticaly, saw the advert last night so she is going to switch early and get the £100, mite aswell since she will end up with them anyway.

£100? Hardly worth it.

Ask yourself why someone would give you £100 to change bank.

Because very few people ever change banks. I've been with Barclays since I was 16, purely because my parents always used them and they had a branch near to where I lived.

They have never been particularly good or bad and I've stayed with them because it's easier than moving. New cards etc.

I imagine there are millions of people who just like me couldn't be arsed.

£100 is just to try you to be arsed. I still can't be, it's not because santander are bad because clearly they are not struggling.

It would take another run of the Natwest Piggies to get me to change ;)
