Team,

A spot of advice would be most welcome.

I'm trying to figure out how to properly install Win 7 on my SSD.

My starting point was a PC with:
- Win 7 and page file on installed on C: (HDD)
- empty E: (OCZ Vertex 2 SSD)

I have installed Win 7 on the SSD and now have Win 7 on C and E! I suppose I was kin of hoping that I would be given the choise to delete Win 7 from from C during the install process...wishful thinking!

2 questions:
(1) How do I get to where I want to be...nice fast starting win7 on my SSD and not on my C: drive?
(2) Where do I want my pagefile to be?

Thanks

Greg

1: Turn off computer. Unplug HDD. Turn on computer. Change boot order of SSD to make it the first HDD. Restart PC and boot from Windows 7 DVD. Do a startup repair. Turn off computer. Plug HDD back in. Check SSD is still first boot device. Boot into super fast Windows. Format HDD.

2: SSD.

I would suggest you backup anything important from your HDD before you format - assuming there is anything to backup. I am guessing not since you were planning to nuke it during the SSD Windows install! :)
