If you shove all the ER-X ports into a switch then you'll be able to use it as one, but basic 5-port gigabit switches are about £10 so I wouldn't bother trying to repurpose a router.

The ERX has a switch chip so should get wire speed switching performance, it's just needlessly complicating the solution when small switches are so inexpensive.

Thanks all, I got the Flint 2 and wireless coverage is much better - I won't need another AP. Struggling with QoS settings and only getting 'A' rating on bufferbloat https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat (I am using Cake with 'layer_cake' script).

Figured out the SQM/QOS - I had to turn off Network Acceleration. Now getting A+ bufferbloat rating.

Weirdly though, one of my lan cables has stopped working - tried on another machine and port to confirm. Hope it has nothing to do with the router. Will try another cable tomorrow.

Also, adblock works via the openwrt plugin.
