Hi Guys

New to mac and I have read the sticky, just setup bootcamp XP (what a breeze) I'm trying to change my icons now.

apple+c seems to work but I can't paste it back? Does nothing?

Am I missing summit?

Sorry if I'm sounding thick :(

Thanks

Taken from mac help pages:

To change an item's icon to another one:

  1. Select the volume, application, folder, or file whose icon you want to stamp onto another, just click the icon to select it.
  2. From the File menu, choose Get Info or press Command-I to open the Info window.
  3. Click the icon in the upper-left corner of the Info window to select it.
  4. From the Edit menu, choose Copy or press Command-C.
  5. Select the volume, application, folder, or file whose icon you want to replace.
  6. From the File menu, choose Get Info or press Command-I.
  7. Click the icon in the upper-left corner.
  8. From the Edit menu, choose Paste or press Command-V to replace the icon.
I can provide screenshots if needed :)

I can edit and copy the new icon but when I select the standard one and go to edit "paste" it's greyed out?

Guys

Is there any way of moving files between my OSX partition and my bootcamp XP partition?

I have down loaded a large windows .exe while in OSX and want to put it somewhere on the XP partition so I can boot into XP and get to the file (hope I've explaining myself correctly)

Thought it would be easy but it's telling my that "my documents and settings" cannot be modified??

Help!

It tells you it cant be modified cos the XP partition is a NTFS partition, and OS X can read that, but not write to it. XP won't even be able to see your OS X partition.

I'm not sure how you would do this, someone else will, but I have ALWAYS had a FAT32 partition on my mac, so that I can store files that both OS X and Windows can see. If you can get a FAT32 partition somewhere, you can share files between both OS's that way.

Is there a good place to get Safari addon's guys? Not used it for any length of time until now and I'm liking it those far!

Would be nice to have homepage new tab and a few other bits if there is such a thing?

Guys this hasn't worked :(

I'd post a screen shot but after apple key + shift + 4

I don't know where to paste it to? Something similar to windows paint?

apple + shift + 3 = screenshot saved to your desktop
apple + shift + 4 = cursor which you can drag to take a screenshot of selected area
apple + shift + 4 , then press space, lets you select a window to take a screenshot of , also saved to desktop

and what hasnt worked...safari stuff or macfuse stuff?
