Switching between Roccats and Speakers?

Hey guys, just a quick question.

I've got a pair of Logi Speakers, as well as a pair of roccat kaves. It's starting to get a bit tedious to unplug the logitech's speaker Jack Plug every time I want to use my roccats, e.g. for gaming or team speak.

I have the 5.1 jack plugs for the roccat plugged into the on board 5.1 jacks at the back of the mobo and I'm running the speakers jack plug to the front panel headphone jack. Annoying!! :P

Any ideas???
 
Yes, I have had a similar problem over the last year or so.

This is how I solved it.

I bought a splitter cable for the stereo jack on my soundcard. I think they can be bought cheaply from electronic shops and they split the sound between the speakers and Roccat headphones. You simply turn off the sound on roccats and turn up volume in windows for Logitech speakers. Note this is said to reduce impedence of the sound, but it worked well for me.

I think the 3.5 jack splitter can be bought for less then three pounds.

Or the way I have now solved my issue, I have a Creative Soundblaster Z card, I plug the speakers into the headphone jack and use the 5.1 surround for the Roccats.

With your new solution, with the sound card, would having the headphones in the surround sound cut out the speakers?
 
I used an old microsoft sidewinder game voice thing I had lying around. Everything stays plugged into it and I just use the switch on the game voice to change between the desktop speakers and the headset. Also have a shortcut on the desktop to switch between 5.1 and 2.1 sound from the creative control panel.
 
Been playing about in the realtek control panel, after playing about a bit ive finally got it to make both front and rear output devices to playback the audio streams, now its just a case of disabling one or the other.

Might see about making a small widget or script to do it because im lazy.
