So running a new PC Build just have not upgraded my GPU yet at least until the prices drop will be looking into top-end Nvidia.
My Current GPU is a EVGA GTX 1070 SC and I have two old monitors they must be about 10 years old have done me proud for their age but really do lack in Response times and refresh rates.

Screen Size 24"
Maximum Resolution 1920x1080
Response Time 5ms
Brightness 250 cd/m2
Contrast Ratio 1000:1
Refresh Rate 60 Hz

Really want to dip into 1440p but am I going to see a decrease in quality if I drop resolutions? until I upgrade my GPU.

Or am I going to see much of a decrease in dropping Graphics settings?

I'm looking on getting dual monitors for around £700 for the pair then whatever extra for a dual mount arm.

So do you think it's worth going to 1440p or sticking with 1080p?

Thanks Guys

What games are you playing or do you intend to play the latest titles as they release?

1070 is going to struggle in new games at 1440p unless you are happy to turn settings pretty low.

Currently not the latest titles.

I used to love Counter-Strike which I know won't be a problem been thinking on getting Xbox Game Pass, I have friends that play Sea Of Thieves I also like to play Civ 5 and maybe fallout 76.
In the hopefully not so far future when I upgrade my card will be jumping on recent games.

I also do some photo editing which are not good on my current monitors and will also be media streaming.

At 24" you might still be ok at 1080p unless you are sitting very close.

With a larger 27" screen 1440 looks much better (to my eye) even if I have to run other settings lower.

For photo editing 1440p would be a big advantage.

Personally I have two screens.
One 4k 60hz for photo editing
And a second 1440p 165hz for gaming, you could swap this for a 1080p screen if you prefer.

Both are IPS and they both calibrate close enough for my photography.

I run 1440p in the PC in my sig, its fine.
Some games you have to be realistic with graphics settings though, for example
Cyberpunk i had to play on low, still looked very good though*
Horizon 5 is set to high
So it depends on the game.

*Bare in mind a lot of games still look great on say meduim settings, it's not like it makes the graphics look 15 year old games, and the higher resolution provides some visual compensation anyway.
