Switching from ATI to Nvidia

don't know if anyone can help me out here, but it seems the scaling options on nvidia drivers are terrible compared to that on ATI's. Resized my desktop using the re size tool in the control panel (i have to do this since im on an HDTV and need to scale down, as the native resolution 1920x1080 overscans).

Resized it is fine, then in game, if i select that resolution its ok. But if i select any other resolution is changes back and overscans! Please help :(

How much did yours cost? Just curious how much you got them for.

I think one was £260 and the other was a bit less.

You can get the Asus one today only for £192 if you have a look, you can get the 2 Gb 6950 nearly every other day at that price or there about.

Now, sure, but I bought these in mid February. I don't think the 6950s were going for £192 in mid-February. I think they were closer to £220 at the time.

I keep my eye on the prices and the 6950 2Gb has been floating about the £200 mark for months with the exception of the odd week or two.

Good that you got a good deal on your cards, they are both cracking cards anyway and as you said you already have them.

Have fun.:D

well sometimes uninstalling the drivers and then installing new hardware can cause issues with windows. Its best to keep a windows repair disk near by, you can download the repair disk or use your own windows cd - both ways are totally legit.

ATI image quality was always superior, even going back to around 1998 using an ATI 8MB wonder pro! even comparing it to the Creative Riva TNT 2 32MB card which was supposed to be an upgrade.

Even the 3dFX Voodoo 5500 64MB had superior image quality compared to any of Nvidia's offerings at the time, no wonder Nvidia bought them out, they had better Engineers.

After even more graphics cards, it was only when I bought the OCZ 8800GTX 768MB around 4 year ago!! did I notice the graphics i.e. AA/AF to be on par with ATI's.
