Switching to Bing

The average Joe on ocuk forums should have nothing to worry about though....

lets just set up video CCTV in our houses then, no one should have anything to worry about. Who needs civil rights or innocent until proven guilty. After all if you have done nothing, then what's to worry about.

What exactly do you do on the internet that you are so protective over? At home i jerk and pick my nose(not at the same time), i don't want people to see that. On the internet i don't do anything i wouldn't mind people seeing.

Nothing, but i do not want civil rights eroded more than they already have been under labour. there is no excuse for the I am innocent so it doesn't affect me stance. Might as well set up the SS and see if they think you are innocent.

Actually that Bing vs Google site just shows how bad Google really is at some stuff... but because it's the defacto search engine nobody notices!

Totally agree google is **** the search engine is rubbish and then they add shed loads of adds to make it worse. It's the most comprehensive search engine. but the list order is a pile of rubbish.

There's a difference and you know it. Google provide a useful service. In return they collect data which helps them maximise revenue. To be honest I've entirely no problem with their privacy record, they're fairly open (more so than they need to be certainly) about it, sure the paranoid will worry because they're a big company with a lot of personal data but there's virtually no reason to assume they'll misuse it right now.

Bing isn't a bad search engine, it's probably the best of the rest. Personally I know how to structure queries in google now to get the best results and it works well for me so I'll stick with it myself.

There isnt really any REAL downside to Google.

Dont see any point changing at all, Bing doesnt seem to do anything special.

I used Dogpile for ages just cause it looks nice and i like dogs, but when iGoogle came out i swapped back due to iGoogle actually being quite usefull as a homepage.

Bing produces vastly better results in some cases.

For example, search for Asus P5Q on Google and Bing.

On Google you get some Asus advert pages, and a search page.

On Bing you get a direct link to the P5Q page on the Asus site.

One is much more useful ;)

Really? All that porn open at the same time?

Like anything I use what works. Once google starts winding me up or letting me down, I'll have a look at Bing. Right now I see no need to leave google for anything.

Google is not the government, and you are not obliged to use their search engine, so I think your invoking civil rights is a wee bit melodramatic.

I don't know the full story as I'm not really interested as I don't use google, but they are publicly supporting some new law.

they've also broken several countrys privacy rules.
