Switching to hosted exchange?

A friend is on IMAP and wants to switch to hosted exchange as he is heard its better.

I see you can get outlook premium which allows you to use a custom domain with outlook.com

Would that do what is required or would he need an O365 business plan?

Didn't Outlook Premium get rolled into Office 365 Personal / Home?

The Exchange plans of O365 start at £3+VAT per user/month and provide full Exchange features (so Outlook client and ActiveSync)

Aha, there is email with the O365 he has, how do I link a custom domain to that?

Right, so we have gone for Hosted Exchange, and paid for 2 users mailboxes as he has two aliases.

Now my question is how are the addresses accessed from the web? I wanted to restore the emails into the new mailboxes before switching DNS records.

Another possible issue is that the email address is already registered as a microsoft account as he has the Office 365 Home subscription too, but Hosted Exchange cannot be added to that.

Any ideas?

You can have multiple aliases on a single email box (receive only).
