swords

hi guys i have a question. I plan on getting the dvds of movies of which I have replica swords, and am wondering, do I keep the dvd in the plastic wrapping if it has it, or not bother? The reason I ask is that the collection is of swords not dvds, so which would look better?

Why buy films if you don't watch them? not exactly limited edition. I'm not sure what you're saying- are you going to buy the DVD and swords props from your favourite films?

well buy the swords then make sure i have the dvd to put next to them. but at the moment im thinking i should open them - i wanna see my swords on screen too! and no value will be gained from having the dvds sealed.

thanks

I really don't think it will make any difference if the DVDs are packaged or not to be honest. If I was going to make a collection like that about swords which have been in/are from films, I think I would be more likely to get something more collectible to go with them. Film cell prints for example, which (if you were going to display it all together) would be more decorative:

Most "movie" swords look nice, but they're not good quality swords, certainly just a wall hanger. Unless they're limited edition/unique they're not worth the money, as they're usually over priced compared to any other stainless steel sword. ie LOTR sword @ £190, you can buy a forged blade for that.

but they are just for looking nice :) not tooo bothered about value i suppose. good idea about the film cells but i think i'll stick with dvds for now!

thanks

Are any of the sword training dvds any good ? My friend is now considering purchasing a training sword and dvd and giving it a go even though I suggested a genuine course would be better.

Whoop :)

Only train with foam swords, unless he wants to break bones. Go to a dojo. Look into Kendo, it's not cheap. Training at home with live steel swords is just asking for trouble.
